Ursula Bloom wrote many light, romance novels, mainly under the pen-name Sheila Burns. A large number of these novels had medical/hospital settings. She also wrote some of these books under the names Mary Essex and Rachel Harvey.
When Wyndham Books began to reissue some of this romantic fiction, the medical romances were all published under the Sheila Burns name. This decision was made to make it easier for readers to find similar works by the author, and to brand them under the series the “Heartbeat Medical Romance Collection.”
Wyndham Books has also published some non-medical romantic fiction by Sheila Burns, such as the highly popular Romance of Jenny W.R.E.N.
